Villa Badoer stands in Fratta Polesine in the Veneto region of northern Italy, a masterwork of Palladian architecture designed by Andrea Palladio in 1556 for the Venetian nobleman Francesco Badoer and constructed between 1557 and 1563. Built on the site of a medieval castle that once guarded a bridge across a navigable canal, the villa marked a significant moment in Palladio's career as the first instance of his fully developed temple pediment applied to a villa façade. Recognized as part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site "City of Vicenza and the Palladian Villas of the Veneto" since 1996, the building remains open to the public, with one wing housing the Museo archeologico nazionale di Fratta Polesine, established in 2009.
