Villa Godi, located in Lugo di Vicenza in the Veneto region of northern Italy, is a patrician villa representing one of the earliest commissions of the Renaissance architect Andrea Palladio. Begun in 1537 for the brothers Girolamo, Pietro, and Marcantonio Godi and completed in 1542, the building exemplifies Palladian architectural principles and features a formal Italian garden. Later modifications altered the rear entry and gardens. The villa now operates as a public museum, housing an archaeological collection in its basement with hundreds of regional fossils, and sits within an expansive park laid out in the nineteenth century. The building is part of UNESCO's World Heritage Site designation for the City of Vicenza and the Palladian Villas of the Veneto.
