The W. B. Thompson Mansion, also known as Alder Manor, is a Renaissance Revival mansion designed by the architectural firm Carrère and Hastings and located on North Broadway in the Greystone section of Yonkers, New York. Built in the early 20th century by mining tycoon and financier William Boyce Thompson as a weekend retreat, it exemplifies the grand riverside estates that once characterized the area. The mansion remained a Thompson family residence until the mid-twentieth century, after which it was bequeathed to the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of New York and served successively as Mary Elizabeth Seton High School (the first Catholic school in Yonkers), a junior college, and a satellite campus of Iona College. Following the closure of the educational facilities, the building fell into disrepair until purchased by Tara Circle, an Irish American cultural organization, which has undertaken restoration efforts and now hosts events, weddings, and film productions there to generate funds for its upkeep. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982, the mansion stands as one of the few surviving grand estates from Yonkers's earlier era of riverside development.
