Ware Hall is a five-story brick Classical Revival apartment building at 383 Harvard Street in Cambridge, Massachusetts, designed by local architect George Fogerty and completed in 1893. Built to serve Harvard University students, it was considered one of the most luxurious student lodgings of its era—a distinction underscored by its location in Mid Cambridge, distant from the campus where such quality apartment blocks typically clustered. The building's construction reflects contemporary material sophistication: a granite foundation supports walls of light Scotch brick on the first story, with Indiana limestone banding at the first and fourth floors. It was the first dormitory to include a passenger elevator, a modernizing feature that signaled shifting expectations among students of the period. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.
