The Washington Damon House in Reading, Massachusetts, is a 2½-story wood-frame structure originally built in 1839 as a side hall Greek Revival residence, complete with small flanking wings from the same period. The house underwent significant renovation in 1906, when a wraparound porch and Palladian window were added to the front gable end—both additions executed in Greek Revival elements that complemented the house's existing architectural character. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984, the building exemplifies the thoughtful adaptation of established housing stock to evolving architectural tastes across more than a century.
