Wellsburg Historic District encompasses 693 contributing buildings in Brooke County, West Virginia, spanning the town's central business district and residential areas. The ensemble documents multiple architectural traditions, including Federal, Greek Revival, and Victorian styles, with notable structures such as the Brooke County Courthouse (1836), the Northwestern Bank of Virginia (1835), the First Methodist Church (1853), Christ Episcopal Church (1887), and the Crescent Glass factory (circa 1900). The district also preserves the Patrick Gass Cottage, originally built in 1797 and substantially remodeled around 1850, as well as the separately listed Miller's Tavern and Wellsburg Wharf. The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.
