The Western Public Service Building, completed in 1931 in Scottsbluff, Nebraska, stands as a notable example of Art Deco architecture on the Great Plains. Designed by architect Everett L. Goldsmith and built by Ernest Leafgreen for the Western Public Service Company, an electricity utility led by president E. C. Van Diest, the building features distinctive terra cotta sheathing on its two public facades facing west and north. Its streamlined aesthetic and materials reflect the period's embrace of modernist design principles. The structure was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2004.
