The Wignacourt Museum is housed in an 18th-century Baroque building in Rabat, Malta, and takes its name from Grand Master Alof de Wignacourt, who ruled the Maltese Islands from 1601 to 1622. Originally home to the Chaplains of the Order of St. John, the building was established as a museum in 1981. The museum's collections emphasize art and religious artifacts and connect to significant nearby sites, including St. Paul's Grotto—traditionally associated with the Apostle Paul's shipwreck in Malta—as well as ancient hypogea and World War II air raid shelters.
