The Wilford Wood House stands in the Mountainville section of Cornwall, New York, a white clapboard Colonial Revival farmhouse built in the late nineteenth century when the area was becoming a fashionable summer resort. Like many substantial houses constructed in Cornwall during that era, it was designed to serve as a boardinghouse, offering guests mountain views and fresh air. The building features a gabled roof with asphalt shingles, pierced by stone and brick chimneys, and a bracketed cornice. Its western facade is defined by a full-length porch supported by two classical columns. Now owned by the nearby Storm King Art Center, the house was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1998.
