The Winter Quarters Nebraska Temple, located in Florence, a neighborhood of Omaha, Nebraska, is the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints' first temple in the state and its 104th operating temple overall. Announced by the church's First Presidency on June 14, 1999, construction began following a groundbreaking ceremony on November 28, 1999, presided over by Hugh W. Pinnock. Designed by Dan Reinhardt of Reinhardt & Associates in a traditional style, the temple features a single attached spire topped with a statue of the angel Moroni, characteristic of LDS temple architecture.
