Victoria, Australia

Exterior only
Visible from the street; the inside is private.
Wonthaggi railway station, a Queen Anne–style building in Victoria's Gippsland region, served both the town of Wonthaggi and the adjacent State Coal Mine as the terminus of the Wonthaggi line operated by Victorian Railways. Two branch lines extended from the station to mine extensions at Kirrak and the Eastern Area. The station operated until the line's closure in 1978, after which the building was preserved and converted into a museum. Supporting infrastructure including a goods shed and crane remain on site. The station was added to the Victorian Heritage Register on 20 August 1982 and now serves as the final station on the Bass Coast Rail Trail.
