The Wood County Courthouse and Jail in Bowling Green, Ohio, is the county's third courthouse, built in Romanesque Revival style following the relocation of the county seat from Perrysburg. Designed by the Columbus architectural firm Yost & Packard and constructed under the supervision of T.B. Townsend of Youngstown, the building was begun on November 28, 1893, with its cornerstone laid on July 4, 1894. Construction costs ultimately reached $255,746, significantly exceeding the winning bid of $153,803. The county commissioners assumed possession of the completed structure on August 31, 1896, and the Common Pleas Courtroom was formally dedicated the following week, on September 7, 1896. The building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
