Located in Woodbine, Iowa, this educational complex comprises two historically significant structures connected by a modern addition. The original Normal and High School, designed by Kansas City architect John P. Eisentraut and completed in 1910, is a two-story brick building with Neoclassical restraint: a raised basement with limestone belt course, simple corbel panels, and a prominent pavilion entry on its south facade beneath a hipped roof. The Grade School, built in 1931 by Des Moines firm Dougher, Rich and Woodburn, embraces Art Deco style with a two-story brick exterior and a striking limestone tablet over its entrance bearing decorative floral motifs. A 1992 brick connector replaced the original single-story link between the buildings. Together, they form a complex serving kindergarten through senior high school, listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2002.
