Located at 611–17 South 4th Street in Louisville's central business district, the Wright and Taylor Building is a two-story commercial structure completed in 1928 by Wright and Taylor, Inc., a distributor of Old Charter bourbon whiskey. The building exemplifies Late Gothic Revival and Tudor Revival architecture, distinguished by its prominent use of glazed architectural terra cotta. Originally housing small businesses through the prohibition era and into the late 1960s, the structure sat vacant for nearly three decades before undergoing renovation and reopening in 2014 as the Mercury Ballroom, a live music venue. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.
