Located in Ottawa's New Edinburgh neighbourhood, 24 Sussex Drive served as the official residence of Canada's prime minister from 1951 until its closure in 2015. Built between 1866 and 1868 by architect Joseph Merrill Currier, the house blends multiple Victorian-era styles—including Queen Anne, Romanesque Revival, and Norman elements—creating a distinctive mid-century modern aesthetic. As a classified federal heritage building, it stands as one of two official residences provided to the prime minister, alongside the Harrington Lake estate in Gatineau Park.
