The Albert and Edith Adelman House is a mid-scale Usonian residence designed by Frank Lloyd Wright and completed in 1948 in Fox Point, Wisconsin. Built for a family with three young sons on a budget of approximately $75,000—a significant reduction from Wright's original $325,000 design—the 170-foot-long home synthesizes the low, horizontal lines of Wright's Prairie School aesthetic with his Usonian principles of low-maintenance, affordable living. Constructed of buff-colored concrete block and cypress that require no paint or plaster, with a cedar shake roof and generous overhangs, the house arranges three bedrooms and service areas at opposite ends around a central living and reception space, connected to a detached garage by a covered walkway in an "L" configuration. Sited at the rear of a 2.5-acre wooded lot overlooking a ravine and oriented to capture southern and southeastern light, the house benefits from interior furnishings—shelves, wardrobes, desks, and sofas—also designed by Wright. The residence, which remains in family occupation, was restored in 2015 and is listed on both the Wisconsin State and National Registers of Historic Places.
