Ali Qapu was a palace complex in central Tabriz, Iran, originally constructed during the Safavid era in the 16th century. The structure underwent complete reconstruction in the 19th century under the Qajars, when a neoclassical building called Shams-ol-Emareh was erected in its place, featuring four stories, a pediment, and a dome. The palace stood as a tall pavilion-type structure near what is now Martyrs' Square until its demolition in the 1940s during the Pahlavi era, following decades of neglect. The site was subsequently redeveloped to accommodate the East Azerbaijan Governor's Office, Tabriz Municipality building, and a branch of the Central National Bank.
