Located in the 5th arrondissement of Paris, the Arab World Institute is a cultural complex designed by Architecture-Studio and Jean Nouvel and completed in 1987. Founded in 1980 as a collaborative effort between France and 18 Arab countries, the Institute was established to address the underrepresentation of Arab culture in France and to serve as a secular forum for promoting Arab civilization, art, knowledge, and aesthetics. The building houses a museum, library, auditorium, restaurant, offices, and meeting rooms, functioning as both a research institution and public cultural space. Recognized for its remarkable contemporary architecture, the Institute embodies a modernist approach to cultural diplomacy through its built form.
