Aspen Community Church, located at the intersection of East Bleeker and North Aspen streets in Aspen, Colorado, is a Richardsonian Romanesque stone structure designed by architect Frederick Albert Hale and erected in the late nineteenth century. Originally built as a Presbyterian house of worship, it later merged with a Methodist congregation as Aspen's population declined. The building, which gained National Register of Historic Places status in 1975—the only place of worship in Pitkin County to receive this honor—underwent restoration in the early twenty-first century while remaining largely intact from its original construction. Its fortress-like appearance and substantial interior, which features the largest organ on the Western Slope, have made it a popular venue for the Aspen Music Festival's recitals and other cultural programs, in addition to its ongoing role as an active house of worship.
