Audi Field is a soccer-specific stadium completed in 2018 in the Buzzard Point neighborhood of Washington, D.C., designed by Populous. With a capacity of 20,000, it serves as home to D.C. United, DC Power FC, Washington Spirit, and the DC Defenders. The venue culminated a lengthy effort to establish a permanent soccer home for the city; after two failed stadium proposals in the 2000s, D.C. United identified the previously unused Buzzard Point site in 2011, with the location formally confirmed in 2013. Construction began in February 2017 and was completed seven months later. In North American competitions, advertising regulations require the stadium to be referred to as Washington, D.C. Stadium rather than by its corporate name.
