Perched on a hill overlooking downtown Ipswich, Massachusetts, the Bailey House is a 2½-story residence built between 1893 and 1910 as both home and office for a prominent local physician. One of central Ipswich's most elaborate examples of Queen Anne and Colonial Revival architecture, the wood-frame house features a roughly rectangular plan with a Colonial Revival veranda wrapping around its north and west facades. Its most distinctive element is a projecting central bay that rises through the roofline and terminates in a turret-shaped gable, flanked by smaller gable dormers. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.
