The Bank of Mauritius Tower, completed in 2006, is a 22-storey reinforced concrete skyscraper in Port Louis that stands at 124 metres to its pinnacle, making it the tallest building in Mauritius. Constructed in modern style over nearly thirty months, the 16,834-square-metre structure was built in an area where high-rises were once prohibited and now towers over the historic Citadel. Designed to withstand seasonal hurricanes, the headquarters of the Bank of Mauritius incorporates advanced technical systems and stands as one of the country's most structurally sophisticated buildings.
