U.S. Bank Tower, a 25-story office skyscraper completed in early 2008 in Sacramento, California, rises 404 feet at 621 Capitol Mall. Designed by the architectural firm Hellmuth, Obata + Kassabaum, Inc. (HOK) and built by Hensel Phelps Construction, the building is Sacramento's second tallest structure. Its most distinctive feature is a series of LED screens crowning the roof that evoke a flowing river or waterway, shifting between shades of blue and purple after dark. This public artwork was created by artist Michael Hayden of Santa Rosa and complements a companion LED installation in the building's lobby, also by Hayden. U.S. Bank secured naming rights and occupies 34,000 square feet of office space within the tower.
