Beijing Daxing International Airport, located on the border of Beijing and Langfang in Hebei province, is one of two major airports serving China's capital. Designed by Zaha Hadid Architects and Norman Foster, this greenfield facility was completed on 30 June 2019 and opened for operations in September 2019. The airport's iconic starfish-shaped terminal, spanning 700,000 square meters, is the world's largest single-building airport terminal. Covering 2,679 hectares with four civilian runways and situated 46 kilometers south of Beijing, the CN¥80 billion facility serves the broader Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region. It operates as a hub for SkyTeam alliance carriers and functions alongside the nearby Beijing Nanjiao Airport. The airport has received multiple awards from Airports Council International, including recognition for hygiene measures, scale, and regional performance.
