Located at Olympic Green in Chaoyang, Beijing, the National Aquatics Center—popularly known as the Water Cube—is a high-tech sports venue designed by PTW Architects. Built to host aquatics competitions during the 2008 Summer Olympics and Paralympics, the facility accommodated diving, swimming, and synchronized swimming events, where twenty-five world records were set. Following a 2010 renovation that added a 12,000 square-meter public water park, the venue was adapted to host aquatics events at the 2022 Winter Olympics and Paralympics, demonstrating its versatility as a multi-purpose Olympic facility.
