Tulsa's Bank of Oklahoma Center, completed in 2008, is a 19,199-seat multipurpose arena designed by César Pelli, the renowned architect of the Petronas Towers in Malaysia. Built as the flagship project of Tulsa County's Vision 2025 development initiative at a total cost of $196 million (combining $178 million in public funds with $18 million in private upgrades), the facility opened on August 30, 2008, following groundbreaking in August 2005. Originally home to the Tulsa Shock of the WNBA and the Tulsa Talons of the Arena Football League, the venue now serves as the permanent home of two hockey and indoor football teams, the Tulsa Oilers, both owned by Andy Scurto. Managed by OVG and bearing the name of its principal sponsor, the Bank of Oklahoma, the arena stands as a major sports and entertainment hub in the region.
