Borl Castle, a medieval fortress overlooking the Drava River in the Municipality of Cirkulane, Slovenia, likely dates to the 12th century, with substantial modifications undertaken in the 15th and 17th centuries. The castle retains period wall paintings, sculptural details, and original furnishings. During the Second World War, between 1941 and 1943, it was requisitioned as a Gestapo prison, with its stables and main building serving as sites of interrogation and torture. A memorial room was established in 1956 and a commemorative plaque unveiled to honor those imprisoned there. The castle is protected as a monument of national significance.
