The Bristol County Superior Court in Fall River, Massachusetts, stands as a monumental three-story granite structure crowned by a distinctive five-story square tower, exemplifying Richardsonian Romanesque architecture at its most imposing. Designed by New Bedford architect Robert H. Slack and completed in 1889, the main courthouse is regarded as Fall River's finest expression of the style. A companion deed registry building, designed by local architect Edward M. Corbett and constructed in 1930, extends the complex with a similar aesthetic. The courthouse was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.
