Constructed in 1854 from brick, the Cape Flattery Light stands on Tatoosh Island at the entrance to the Strait of Juan de Fuca in Clallam County, Washington, within the Makah Indian Reservation. It is the northwesternmost lighthouse on the West Coast of the contiguous United States. Now deactivated and closed to the public, the structure remains visible to visitors who undertake a short 30-minute walk from Cape Flattery. Designated a National Treasure, the lighthouse represents an important chapter in the maritime history of the Pacific Northwest.
