Castletown House in Celbridge, County Kildare, is a Palladian mansion built in 1722 for William Conolly, Speaker of the Irish House of Commons. Designed by Edward Lovett Pearce and Alessandro Galilei, it served as the centrepiece of an 800-acre estate. The house fell into private hands after the estate's 1965 sale and eventual subdivision, but was rescued by preservationists who made it the Irish Georgian Society's first major undertaking. Following transfer through a charitable foundation, it came into state ownership in 1994, with the Office of Public Works acquiring a further 235 acres of the remaining estate in November 2025.
