Centre Court at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in London is the world's most famous tennis court and the principal venue of the Wimbledon Championships, the third Grand Slam event of the tennis calendar. Built in 1922, it incorporates the club's clubhouse and remains in active use only during the two weeks of the annual Championships. The court is distinguished by a Royal Box reserved for the British royal family and distinguished guests, and ranks as the sixth largest tennis-specific stadium globally by capacity. A retractable roof was added in 2009, allowing play to continue through rain and evening hours until an 11:00 pm council-imposed curfew. The court also hosted tennis competition during the 2012 Summer Olympics, alongside No. 1 Court and No. 2 Court.
