A Mission Revival structure in Colorado Springs's Conejos District, the Chadbourn Spanish Gospel Mission was founded in 1928 by Ruth Chadbourn, a Presbyterian nurse and former missionary in Costa Rica who had relocated to Colorado for her health. From its inception, the mission church served the local community by providing religious instruction, education, sports programs, and missionary outreach. The venture was sustained by the Colorado Springs Ministerial Association, which established an advisory board to secure funding and recruit teachers. The building is recognized on both the National Register of Historic Places and the Colorado State Register of Historic Properties.
