Chausath Khamba, a Mughal marble tomb built in 1623–24, stands in the Nizamuddin precinct of New Delhi. The structure takes its name from its sixty-four pillars, a distinctive architectural feature that dominates its design. Built by Mirza Aziz Koka, son of Ataga Khan, as his own mausoleum during Emperor Jahangir's reign, the tomb commemorates a nobleman who served multiple times as Governor of Gujarat before his death in that region. Designated a Monument of National Importance, it remains an exemplary work of Mughal funerary architecture within the historic shrine complex of Nizamuddin.
