Built in 1802 by the Chelmsford Glass Works at 139–141 Baldwin Street in Lowell, Massachusetts, this Georgian-era structure is a series of 1½-story Cape-style wood-frame houses joined into a single tenement to house the factory's workers. Erected after the opening of the Middlesex Canal, which enabled the glass works' establishment in this then-rural area, the building stands as one of the country's earliest industrial tenement structures. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973.
