The Church of St George stands on Bath Street in Bolton, Greater Manchester, a Georgian structure completed in 1796. A shallow chancel and south chapel were added or rebuilt in 1907 by architect James Simpson. The church is designated Grade II* listed. Notable for its history, the church received a set of change-ringing bells cast by John Rudhall in 1806 to commemorate Nelson's victory at Trafalgar; these bells were later acquired by the Anglican Diocese of Wangaratta in 1976 and shipped to Victoria in 1977, where they became Australia's oldest complete ring of bells after being first rung in 1987. The church closed in 1975, served as a crafts centre until 2007, and was subsequently considered for lease to the Redeemed Christian Church of God.
