The CMA CGM Tower, a 147-metre deconstructivist skyscraper completed in September 2011, stands in Euroméditerranée, Marseille's central business district. Designed by Zaha Hadid as her first tower—selected for the commission in November 2004—it serves as headquarters for CMA CGM, one of the world's major freight companies, consolidating 2,200 employees previously distributed across seven sites. Built by Vinci subsidiary GTM Construction, the 33-storey structure features 15 lifts and was conceived to interact visually with Marseille's iconic landmarks, including the Château d'If and the basilica of Notre-Dame de la Garde, which rises above it from a rocky outcrop.
