Located at the corner of 4th Avenue and University Street in Seattle, the Cobb Building is an eleven-story Beaux-Arts office structure designed by the architectural firm Howells & Stokes and constructed in 1909–1910 under the supervision of Albert H. Albertson. Originally built as an early example of a high-rise medical office center within Seattle's Metropolitan Tract, the building features sculpted Native American ornaments at the 9th and 10th floor cornice, attributed to sculptor Victor G. Schneider. The only surviving building of its design from the ten-acre tract that once lined both sides of 4th Avenue, the Cobb Building has since transitioned to commercial office space and was recently renovated for residential apartments. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
