The Hoge Building, a 17-story tower completed in 1911 on the northwest corner of Second Avenue and Cherry Street in Seattle, was constructed by banker and real estate investor James D. Hoge. Built primarily of tan brick and terracotta over a steel frame, the structure combines Second Renaissance Revival with Beaux-Arts elements. Upon completion, it stood as Seattle's tallest building, a distinction it held until 1914 when Smith Tower surpassed it. The building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
