The Collins Waterfront Architectural District in Miami Beach encompasses 110 buildings and structures erected primarily in the late 1940s through 1960s, clustered along Collins Avenue between the Atlantic Ocean and the Collins Canal. The district exemplifies the region's mid-century resort culture through its predominant architectural styles—Art Deco, Mediterranean Revival, and the distinctly local Miami Modern aesthetic—with large resort hotels serving as its chief resources. Designed by a roster of prominent architects including Morris Lapidus, Henry Hohauser, and Roy France, the district includes the separately listed Cadillac Hotel and Ocean Spray Hotel, along with Casa Faena and various bridge structures. Placed on the National Register of Historic Places in November 2011, the district represents a concentrated period of Miami Beach's development as a premier American destination.
