Cranberry Specialty Hospital in Hanson, Massachusetts, was a Mediterranean Revival tuberculosis sanatorium founded in 1919 as Plymouth County Hospital. Designed to treat tuberculosis-stricken children, the facility was distinguished by its modern heating system and architectural quality. An annex completed by 1922 provided additional patient wards and an auditorium, while the complex also included a large kitchen, laboratory, and morgue. In 1965, under superintendent C. Clark Streeter, the hospital transitioned to chronic care operations and was renamed Cranberry Specialty Hospital around 1984. Financial difficulties and aging infrastructure led to its closure in 1992. Though the annex later served various county agencies and community organizations, the main campus deteriorated and suffered arson fires in the early 2000s that destroyed significant structures including the auditorium and kitchen. The property was fenced in 2009 due to lead contamination and structural danger, with demolition of abandoned buildings beginning after a 2016 fire.
