The Mount Evans Crest House, built between 1940 and 1941, stands at the summit of Mount Blue Sky in Colorado as a testament to organic architecture at an extreme elevation. Once the highest business structure in the United States, the building operated as a restaurant, gift shop, and tourist attraction for visitors arriving via the Mount Blue Sky Scenic Byway. A fire in 1979 partially destroyed the structure, leaving it in ruins, though it remains notable both for its distinctive architectural design and its remarkable location at one of Colorado's most iconic peaks.
