Dillon Gymnasium is a Collegiate Gothic multi-purpose athletic facility at Princeton University, designed by architect Aymar Embury II and completed in 1947. Built to replace University Gymnasium, which burned down in 1944, the building houses a 1,500-seat gymnasium, squash courts, and a pool. Named for Herbert L. Dillon, class of 1907 and former football captain, it served as home to Princeton's men's basketball team until 1969, when Jadwin Gymnasium was constructed. Today the facility accommodates the men's and women's volleyball and wrestling teams, and functions as headquarters for Campus Recreation, featuring the Stephens Fitness Center, a dance studio, martial arts room, and spinning facilities. The building gained additional prominence in February 1964 when Bill Bradley scored 51 points here in a dominant victory over Harvard.
