The Dorothy Chandler Pavilion is an opera house completed in 1964 as one of the principal venues of the Los Angeles Music Center, among the largest performing arts centers in the United States. Originally home to the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra and Los Angeles Master Chorale, the Pavilion became the primary home of the Los Angeles Opera after those ensembles relocated to the adjacent Walt Disney Concert Hall, which opened in 2003. The venue also hosts Glorya Kaufman Presents Dance at the Music Center. The Pavilion gained additional prominence as the host of the Academy Awards ceremonies during multiple years between 1969 and 1999.
