The Dr. William H. and Mae R. Klose House is a Colonial Revival residence in Oskaloosa, Iowa, built as a 1½-story frame dwelling with a side-gable roof, facade gambrel dormer, and bay window flanking its main entry. Dr. Klose, a longtime German instructor at nearby William Penn College, and his wife Mae were among the first residents of the Penn College Addition, a development that helped sustain the Quaker institution financially during a period of institutional turmoil. The house's historical significance derives from the Kloses' pivotal role in the college's survival and their pioneering presence in the college-sponsored neighborhood. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1996.
