Ednaston Manor, a country house near Brailsford in Derbyshire, was designed by Edwin Lutyens and built between 1912 and 1919 in Queen Anne style for William G. Player. The Grade I listed building was later purchased in 1979 by Lionel Pickering, a free newspaper pioneer and former Derby County chairman, who enhanced its extensive gardens and opened them to the public during summer months before selling the property to a local businessman shortly before his death in 2006.
