Euxinograd is a late 19th-century royal summer palace and urban park situated 8 kilometres north of Varna on Bulgaria's Black Sea coast. Designed by architect Viktor Rumpelmayer and completed in 1885, the châteauesque structure served as a former royal residence and now functions as a governmental and presidential retreat. The expansive grounds host cabinet meetings during summer months and accommodate several villas and hotels open to tourists. Since 2007, the palace has hosted the Operosa opera festival. Following extensive renovations that closed the site until summer 2016, Euxinograd remains an important cultural and political venue in the region.
