Located at 431 N. Hall Street in Valentine, Nebraska, the F.M. Walcott House is a Neoclassical Revival dwelling built in 1892 for F.M. Walcott, a prominent county attorney and judge with one of the largest legal practices in the state. The house exemplifies vernacular Neo-Classical Revival design, drawing on the upright-with-wing or temple-form compositions characteristic of Greek Revival architecture in the eastern and Midwestern states. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982 for its architectural significance and association with Walcott, the property—originally purchased for $137.50—now operates as the Walcott Inn.
