Built in 1939 at 348 North Main Street in Valentine, Nebraska, the U.S. Post Office-Valentine exemplifies Moderne architecture and represents one of twelve Nebraska post offices commissioned with a Section of Fine Arts mural. The $700 artwork, created by University of Nebraska art professor Kady Faulkner, drew mixed critical reception upon its completion. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1991, the building now serves as the Valentine Media Center, operated by Educational Service Unit #17, and continues to house Faulkner's invited mural alongside the historic post office structure.
