Located in Fredericktown, Missouri, this one-story post office was designed by the Office of the Supervising Architect under Louis A. Simon and constructed in 1936–1937 as a WPA-Moderne structure. Built of red brick and limestone, the roughly 64-by-68-foot rectangular building features an elaborated raised entrance framed by ashlar pilasters and tall, complex windows characteristic of its Moderne style. The interior lobby contains a Treasury Section of Fine Arts mural titled "The Lead Belt," painted by Missouri artist James Baare Turnbull and installed in 1939. The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2009.
