Built in 1937 in Rockville Centre, Nassau County, New York, this post office exemplifies the transitional architectural tastes of the New Deal era, blending Colonial Revival and Art Deco elements. Designed by consulting architect William Dewey Foster for the Office of the Supervising Architect, the one-story brick structure features limestone trim and a distinctive Art Deco grille above its main entrance doors. The interior is enriched by four irregularly shaped murals painted by Victor White in 1939 depicting local historic scenes. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989, the building represents the federal government's investment in civic architecture during the Great Depression.
